While traveling in Taiwan, I kept a small sketchbook handy at all times. I was enthralled by the ubiquitous yet unique "stores on wheels;" colorful, often chaotically constructed carts dishing out cheap, tasty food.
Clockwise from top left: tofu pudding (douhua), pig's blood cake, motorcycle coffee stand, green onion pancake.
TOFU PUDDING: This douhua dessert cart was spotted at the fringes of the Shilin night market in Taipei. It was selling douhua (sweet silken tofu pudding) and shaved ice.
PIG'S BLOOD CAKE: This motorcycle was parked on a shady side street in Beitou. The cart was actually closed when I spotted it, no storekeeper in sight.
MOTORCYCLE COFFEE STAND: This is the most awesome coffee shop I have ever seen, called Small Full Coffee. This stand was located in the grass park next to Huashan 1914 Creative Park when I visited, but he pops up in different places in Taipei with his bike. https://www.instagram.com/smallfull2018/
GREEN ONION PANCAKE: This cart was in the middle of a busy side street by Longshan Temple. They were selling both pancakes and fresh, deep fried donuts (common for pancake carts).

All items in the shop are illustrated (on paper or digitally) by me. If it is a paper item, it is also printed by me on my inkjet printer.
